Headteacher's Message
Children's Mental Health Week

This week, our school will celebrate Children’s Mental Health Week with creative activities promoting self-awareness and emotional well-being. Students will design rosettes to celebrate personal achievements and paint star magnets inspired by Inside Out 2 to explore emotions. The week will conclude with a Cake Sale and Ribbon-Tying Event, bringing families together to highlight the importance of mental health. See more information in the letter sent out last week. A big thank you to our PTA and staff for their support!
School Council

In School Council this week, we discussed the school dinner menu. We talked about what everyone likes and dislikes, gathering feedback based on our own experiences with lunches and what we’ve heard from our friends and classmates. We looked at each week’s menu and shared our thoughts.
We heard some great ideas about dishes we enjoy, and also some suggestions for things we could improve. Lots of people said they really like the pizza, and the fish and chips is always a popular choice! The pasta dishes, especially the pesto pasta and macaroni cheese, also got a lot of thumbs up. Burgers and chips are definitely favourites too! We also talked about some general feedback about lunchtimes. We talked about a few things that could be better, and we’re hoping to see some positive changes soon. We also discussed some general feedback about lunchtimes.
We are Going Cashless!

From Monday 24th February 2025, we will no longer accept cash or cheques in school. We ask all parents to only use our e-payment method to pay for trips, activity clubs, childcare etc. This can be done online using a very secure website and app called SCOPAY or in cash at local stores where you see the PayPoint logo.
Please see more information in the letter here.

Spring Trips!

Year 1 had an unforgettable visit from Spirit in the Wild, where the children were thrilled to meet a variety of fascinating and friendly creatures! From curious critters to scaly reptiles, they had the chance to learn about each animal up close. Everyone showed incredible bravery, with many children eagerly holding the animals—and even Mr. Hyde stepped up to the challenge, confidently holding the python! It was a fantastic hands-on experience that left the children excited and inspired.
Year 3 had a fantastic trip to the Natural History Museum, filled with exciting hands-on learning! They took part in a fun volcano workshop, experienced an earthquake simulation, and explored incredible dinosaur fossils discovered by Mary Anning.

Charming Chicks!
Year 5 is having a fantastic learning experience with the arrival of baby chicks in their classroom! 🐣 They were fascinated to watch them hatch, gaining a firsthand understanding of the early stages of life. As they help care for the chicks, they are learning about responsibility, life cycles, and animal welfare. Later this week, they will have the chance to gently hold them and continue observing their growth.
