Headteacher's Message
It has been a busy start to our final term.
Ofsted visited us in the first week back and although it takes a few weeks for their report to be published, they were able to recognise in those few days, lots of wonderful things about our children, our staff and our school community. The report will be sent home and published on the website as soon as it becomes available.
Teachers are finalising assessments and writing reports, so it remains an incredibly busy time.
Please note important dates: Our Summer Fair will be Friday 30th June after school. Please contact a member of the team if you are able to help out in any way.
Our Sports Days will be on Wednesday 12th, Thursday 13th and Friday 14th of July.
Reports will be sent home in the final week of term and Tuesday 18th July will give you an opportunity to come and view some of your childrens’ learning if you wish to do so.
The final day of term is Thursday 20th July and we will finish at 1.30 pm and there will be no ClubXtra.
Enjoy the sunny weather.
School Council
ClubXtra Art
In ClubXtra the children have been re using the little black tiles that were collected from the scrap store that Kelvin Grove is a member of.
The children at ClubXtra pride themselves on reusing recycled materials and upcycling them into something else.
To create their fantastic tiles, they first drew their designs on paper and then used POSCA pens while drawing their designs on to the tiles
Achievements
Lost Property
All lost property is stored in the Club Xtra cupboard. Alison Jupp, our Club Xtra Manager, will get the lost property out every couple of weeks for parents to look through and find anything they may have missing. Unnamed and uncollected items will be sent to the local charity shop. Alison will next display the lost property by the pod in the main playground on Friday 7th July from 3.15pm.

Priority will be given to parents and carers who pre-book in advance.

Records update
As we near the end of the summer term, we would like to check that we have the correct contact information for you.
Please register with SIMS Parent where you can access your child’s records and make any necessary changes as and when you need to. Even if you don’t need to make changes, we would greatly appreciate it if you could please still double check the details we have on record for your child, and confirm that no changes need to be made.
If you need help, you can read the instructions here: INSTRUCTIONS or contact the school office.

the Governors
It’s been a busy start to the term with Ofsted visiting last week. The Governors would like to thank all staff; office staff, SLT, teachers, TA’s, premises and everyone involved in the school, for all of their hard work and extra effort over the course of the visit – we know it’s an incredibly busy and stressful time! Thank you also to the parents who filled in the OFSTED parent questionnaire and encouraged their children to fill in the student questionnaire.
The remainder of this term is a busy one, with lots of events to look forward to, such as the summer fair and sports days. The Governors have their final meetings of the year, where we will assess this year and prepare for the next academic year.

Lewisham Education Arts Network
A borough-wide and nationwide activity will celebrate this important moment in time.
The arrival of the Empire Windrush is a symbolic event, filmed, recorded and reported in the newspaper on its arrival at Tilbury on 22nd June 1948. A story with the Caribbean community at its centre and the wonderful symbolic beginning of a story changing Britain to the diverse country we live in today – a Britain shaped by the Windrush story.
Barbara Gray, Development Lead at Kinaraa writes: ‘Windrush 75 an important moment in time for Lewisham’
Lewisham has lots of activity planned across the borough to celebrate 75 years since the arrival of the Empire Windrush at Tilbury, with many still to be announced. For a full listing of Lewisham events click here.
