At Kelvin Grove we would like to encourage all parents and carers to update and verify their child’s record every term using Sims Parent. Even if you don’t need to make any changes we would ask that you still double check your child’s records and confirm that no changes need to be made. You can access and view your child’s information in a time that suits you, update details as and when you need to and be confident that it is correct.
Not only does this save us time but has removed the need for paper-based data collection and storage systems where records can easily be lost or damaged. This allows us to be more proactive in the collection of data and more responsive to information requests as they arrive.
Getting started with the SIMS Parent app:
|01||We will send you an activation email from email@example.com containing a unique invitation code – you will need this code to set up your SIMS online services account.|
(If you haven’t received the email, please check your SPAM/Junk folder – If you still haven’t received the email please contact us as we may have stored your email incorrectly)
|02||Simply click on the ‘Accept Invitation’ button in the email and you’ll be directed to the registration page.|
|03||Enter your email and the invitation code to confirm identity then click next (your invitation code may have already been entered automatically)|
|04||You will now be asked to enter the date of birth of your child – if you have more than one child please enter the date of birth of any one of your children and then click next. (Please enter the date of birth in this format – 26/2/2022)|
|05||You will now be asked to create a ‘strong’ password, please keep note of this and then click next.|
|06||Your account has now been registered – DO NOT LOG IN YET! please check your email as there will be one from firstname.lastname@example.org confirming your registration for SIMS ID. – There is a link in the email where you’ll need to validate your account, please click on the link to do this.|
|07||You’ll now see a screen saying ‘You have now validated your email address, thank you’.|
|08||You can now sign in! – Download the ‘SIMS Parent’ on your smartphone or tablet from the app store or you can login from your internet browser at http://www.sims-parent.co.uk.|
|09||Please log in and check/amend the information.|
- Your activation email is unique to you and should not be used by anyone else.
- Your activation email will expire after 90 days if it is not used. Please contact the school if you require a replacement after this date.
If you don’t have access to the Internet or have any other issues, feel free to pop into the office where we have a computer you can use and as always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Once you have accessed your child’s account, you can review the information and submit changes or just confirm that the details are correct. You will receive a notification when your changes have been reviewed.
