Headteacher's Message
As we reach the end of another successful school year, it is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on just how much has been achieved over the past twelve months. From exciting trips and residential visits to Sports Days, performances and countless memorable learning experiences, it has been a year full of opportunities for our children to grow, learn and thrive. Thank you to our families for your continued support throughout the year, it is the partnership between home and school that helps make our community such a special place.
A particular congratulations goes to our Year 6 children, who have much to celebrate. We are incredibly proud of their excellent SATs results and the resilience, determination and maturity they have shown throughout their time at Kelvin Grove. Their end-of-year celebrations and residential visit to France have been a fitting way to mark the end of their primary school journey. Our sincere thanks go to Mr Clark and the staff team who gave up their time to make this trip possible, creating memories and experiences that will stay with the children for years to come. We wish all of our Year 6 pupils every success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their education at secondary school.
The end of the school year also brings the opportunity to say goodbye to valued members of staff. After an incredible 19 years at Kelvin Grove, we bid farewell to Mrs Legouix. Throughout her time here, she has had a lasting impact on our school community, championing the importance of play, leading our School Council and inspiring countless initiatives that have enriched children’s experiences. Her commitment and enthusiasm have touched the lives of so many children and families, and while she will be greatly missed, we wish her every success in her new school.
We also say goodbye to Gemma from our office team. Many of you will know Gemma as the friendly face who has supported families with clubs, trips and the countless day-to-day questions that keep a busy school running smoothly. We thank her for her dedication and wish her all the very best for the future.
Finally, I would like to thank all of our staff, governors, the PTA and our families for everything you have done to support the school this year. The Summer Fair was a wonderful way to bring our community together and a fantastic celebration of the school, raising valuable funds that will continue to benefit our children. Together, we continue to build a caring, ambitious and inclusive community where children flourish.
We wish everyone a safe, restful and sunny summer break. We look forward to welcoming children back to school on Thursday 3rd September 2026, ready for another year ahead.
School Council

We have had such a great year in School Council and we are really proud of what we have achieved together. We have worked hard to make playtimes more fun, help improve our school environment and share ideas to make our school an even better place for everyone.
One of the things we have enjoyed most is thinking of ways we can help look after the environment. We know that even small changes can make a big difference, and we hope the school will keep building on these ideas next year.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Legouix for leading School Council this year. She has listened to all our ideas, encouraged us to make a difference and always supported us. We are really sad that she is leaving, but we know she will be amazing in her new job. We wish her lots of luck and happiness, and we will miss her very much.
Thank you, Mrs Legouix, from all of us in School Council!
France Residential
Our Year 6 residential to Normandy was an unforgettable experience, filled with opportunities to learn, reflect and create lasting memories together. Throughout the trip, the children visited a number of significant historical sites, including Point du Hoc and the British Normandy Memorial Cemetery, where they showed great respect as they learned about the events of the Second World War and the sacrifices made by so many.
The children also explored the breathtaking Mont Saint-Michel, taking in its remarkable history and stunning surroundings, before enjoying a relaxing afternoon on the beautiful sands of Omaha Beach. With glorious weather throughout the trip, there were plenty of smiles, laughter and shared experiences that will stay with the children for years to come.
A huge thank you goes to the staff who gave up their time to accompany the children on this residential. Their care, enthusiasm and dedication made this incredible experience possible, and we are so grateful for the wonderful support they gave every child throughout the trip.

Home Learning Heroes
A big well done to all of the children for the outstanding home learning they have completed this year. We have loved seeing the dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm they have shown while learning beyond the classroom. From imaginative projects and beautiful artwork to thoughtful research, engaging writing, and hands-on activities, every piece of work has reflected the children’s commitment and effort. A heartfelt thank you to all of our families for your ongoing support with learning at home. We are incredibly proud of everything the children have accomplished!
Adventures with Aardman!
Year 2 have enjoyed two fantastic trips to London this term! At the Young V&A, the children explored the Aardman exhibition, getting hands-on with stop-motion animation, original film sets, sound effects and lighting.
They also visited St Paul’s Cathedral, where they explored the magnificent building, ventured into the crypt and discovered what survived the Great Fire of London. We are incredibly proud that the children received wonderful feedback from staff at both venues for their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm. A huge thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us and helped make these memorable visits possible.

Mobile Phone Free Zone
From September, our school will be a mobile phone free zone. Taylor Shaw Catering has been awarded the school meals contract for Lewisham schools.
A new menu will be introduced from September. Parents and carers have also been sent new Medical and Dietary Requirement forms, which must be completed and returned by 1st September to ensure we have up-to-date information for your child.
