Year 3 have launched their new topic on South America in a deliciously creative way! To learn about how the Andes mountain range was formed, we used Oreos to model tectonic plates and the Earth’s mantle. By moving the “plates” together and sliding them up and down over the icing, we could see how mountains are created when the Earth’s crust is pushed upwards. We even created our own mini Andes mountain ranges!
