Headteacher's Message
A beautiful fall of snow on Sunday along with some fantastic performances by our children have made this week feel really Christmassy. You can see the photos of the performances below.
We will continue the week’s celebrations with our Christmas dinner and Winter Festival, through to school finishing on Friday 16th at 1.30pm (no Club Xtra).
There are a lot of coughs and colds around at the moment as well as other illnesses. Getting the balance right between attending school and taking time off so that these illnesses don’t spread is always a fine balance, but high school attendance is key to your child’s happiness and success.
I hope you all have a wonderful break, stay safe and celebrate with family and friends.
We return to school on Thursday 5th January. Attendance on these two days is so important as this is when teachers will launch the children’s new topics, see you all then.
New Breakfast Club Menu
We are launching our new Breakfast Club menu in January. We have also joined up to the National Breakfast Club Programme who are part funding some of the food that we provide, such as bagels and cereals. Please let us know if you have any comments about the new menu. You can contact us on the school email: admin@kelvingrove.lewisham.sch.uk

Nuts in School
Please remember that we are a ‘NO NUTS’ school. We have children who are have terrible reactions if they are exposed to nuts. This includes foods made with peanuts, such as peanut butter.
Thank you for supporting us in keeping all our children safe.
Book Donation
Thank you so much to Acorn Book Club for these great books that you have sent us. We all really appreciate your donation.
Acorn Book Club is a charity that accepts donations of pre-loved children’s books from members of the general public and redistributes them to primary school libraries and other organisations that work with young children. They were founded in 2018 and in that time have donated over 53,000 books that may otherwise be sitting on bookshelves throughout homes in South East London.
Free Holiday Activities
The Winter Holiday, Activities, Food and Fun Programme (HAF) is now available. The WINTER HAF PROGRAMME 2022 includes activities taking place across the borough, throughout the festive period. The aim is to target young people aged 4-16 years, who are in receipt of free school meals or vulnerable.
Please use the code LBLFSM22 for pupils in receipt of free school meals. For further information please email: hafprogramme@lewisham.gov.uk
INSET Day Change Reminder
Due to a change in teacher training, we are moving the INSET day from 17th April 2023 to 4th January 2023. This will mean that children will return to school on 5th January for the spring term and on 17th April for the summer term. We have updated the term dates on the website to reflect the change.
