On Wednesday afternoon, Lavender Class walked to Lower Sydenham and, using a number of different types of maps – one that located the bombs, an OS map and a map that showed the level of destruction caused to each property following the Blitz, we identified where these buildings would have been. It was great fun looking for changes in architecture and also discussing the variations in styles between Victorian, post war and modern. Although it was really cold, we learnt so much.
