We have had another busy and exciting week in Saffron class. We had our Year 1 and Year 2 winter show, where we dazzled everyone with our wonderful singing. 

Then on Tuesday we had the launch of our English book ‘The Polar Express’: we came into school in our pyjamas, and had a train ticket and cup of hot chocolate just like the boy in the book. We even heard the magical ringing of the reindeer’s bells… This week we wrote about why we should get the first gift of Christmas, just like in the book and what we would like to choose as our gift.  We all had amazing arguments about why Santa should pick us!

In Maths we are learning about money and have been using coins of various values to show different ways to make the same amounts.  We’ve also been making some beautifully colourful cards with some lovely personal messages inside.  We’ve had a marvellous first term in Year 2 and can’t wait for more exciting learning in 2023!
