We have had a fantastic week in Cerise class. We started our new story ‘My Two Grannies’. Cerise class enjoyed finding out all about a little girl called Alvina and her two different grannies. We discussed how each granny was different and things they have in common. We are exploring life in Blackpool and life in Trinidad, where each granny is from. We have begun to use our phonics and mark marking skills to begin to write down our ideas. This week we have been playing snakes and ladders as granny Rose loves playing it with her family.
In maths we have been learning how to find 1 more than a given number. We have explored how to use cubes to make our own numbers blocks, create numincon 1 more number lines and we have used stories to find 1 more. We have focused on recording our own ideas and numbers.
Cerise class love to play outside! This week we have shown a real interest in dinosaurs! We decided to create a new ‘dino land’ in the playground. The children found new resources and decided that we need to make a pond for the dinosaurs. Everyone worked as a team to create an amazing space for us to play. We even began to make volcanoes for the dinosaurs.
