Year 6 are enjoying all being back together in school after our trip to Nethercott Farm last week. We have been doing some incredible suspense writing around an image called ‘Mr. Linden’s Library.’ The children have worked hard to create a back story for Mr. Linden and give hints that he and his library might not be as innocent as they seem. This has really given the children an opportunity to be creative and find their own writers’ voices. We can’t wait to see how the stories end next week.
In Computing this week, the children investigated the terms and conditions of popular social media apps. We were shocked to learn how much personal data apps collect about their users and how much money they generate from selling this data on to advertisers. They made posters to inform people what they really are agreeing to when they download and use these apps.
Finally, in Art, we’ve continued our work around the artist Sha’an d’Anthes. The children have applied all the skills they’ve been practising over the past weeks to replicate one of d’Anthes’ pieces of art. They look absolutely amazing and the children should be so proud of the progress they’ve made.
