This week in Year 6, we have been continuing our studies of Disease and Development. In English, we have been planning and writing formal letters of advice in role as a 1600’s doctor. We included details of cures of the times, warnings of likely symptoms and advised the customer (Mr Smith) of suitable treatments for the plague.
In topic, we have been debating on whether we have a greater understanding of medicine, living conditions and wealth. To show our thoughts and comprehension on this matter, we composed our own presentations. As a reference to create our work, we used a range of primary sources such as 19th century images.
In art, we have been researching and creating artworks on micro-organisms (tiny-living things). This week, we completed artworks using the technique of marbling which is a marble-like effect. These artworks will go towards a collage at the end of term.
