Even though it’s nearly the end of term, children in Violet class have been continuing to work hard!
This week in Violet class we have been getting creative by looking at newspapers and magazines to find powerful words and phrases to express how we feel about global warming. We have then added these words and phrases to our art collage project. Previously, we each had a station and created our own materials to collage with, this included: printing, acrylic paint, water colours, stamping and straw-blowing to make different textures to share as a class. The message behind our collages is to encourage people to think about deforestation, plastic pollution and climate change.
In Science we have been learning about the life cycle of plants. At the start of this term we planted a huge range of seeds: chikoo, bell peppers, tomatoes, coriander, mustard, apricot and avocado! We have been enjoying ensuring our plants are watered daily and kept in the sunlight. Every day we are seeing more and more growth. We really do have green fingers!
In computing, it is our final lesson on the coding program ‘Scratch’ and we will be having a battle of the bands. We will use all our coding and looping knowledge to make our own music. We like Scratch because you can use your imagination to create your own ‘Sprite’ world. Keep an ear out around the school for our music!
