Apricot class have kick started the term with a very exciting and fun drama workshop. They became Jungle explorers for the morning, pretending to be different animals and then helping to find different creatures whilst hiding from a terrible crocodile. It was so lovely to see them all animated and involved with the learning.
In English we have learnt the poem ‘A Garden’ and have now begun to create our own version by thinking about different flowers, trees and animals that we could have in our own green space.
This terms topic is ‘Extraordinary Explorers’ and we will be studying Frederick Horniman. Children will learn the history of the museum and begin to use historical vocabulary so they understand the passing of time both in their life time and much further back in history.
In maths we have been consolidating our understanding of numbers to 10 and beginning to learn about the place value of teen numbers.
It may have been windy this week but Apricot have been very calm and showing adults in and around the school how well they have developed as learners. Great start Apricot!!!!
