Last week, Year 6 had a really enjoyable week in English. We have been reading the text ‘Can You See Me?’ by Libby Scott. Libby, who is autistic, uses this story to tell us all about the daily life experiences of an 11 year- old autistic girl called Tally. Like many of us, Tally is apprehensive about starting secondary school and sometimes finds herself experiencing challenges whilst trying to settle into school life. We really enjoyed reading this text because so many of the events were relatable and it enabled us to understand our world from a different perspective.
In response to this text, we wrote diary entries in role as Tally.
Our week ended on an exciting high, as we are going to be given the opportunity to interview the author (Libby Scott) this afternoon.
In topic, we have been learning all about Japan with a real emphasis on geography. This week we have been learning about the human and physical features of London. We will then use these skills to write about the human and physical features of Tokyo.
