In Orchid Class we have been really enjoying learning how to tell the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’ off by heart. We have enjoyed acting out the story and joining in with the actions and the repeated refrains. This week we have been making up our own versions of the story and have been choosing our own vegetables to pick and deciding who is strong enough to pull it out. We have had Hulk pushing and pulling out a pear, Winston the dog pulling out a giant orange, Mercat Sparkleshine pushing and pulling out a carrot and a T-Rex pulling out a pineapple!
In maths we have been learning about number bonds to 10. We have been using ten frames and part part while models to help us understand the pairs of numbers that make ten and how they are related. We even made our own giant ten frames out of tyres and crates when playing outside.
We have been enjoying watching our plants begin to grow and have been watering them carefully.
