Cerise class are really enjoying our topic ‘Under The Sea’. We have started our new story ‘Somebody Swallowed Stanley’. It has really captured our hearts and got us thinking about the planet, in particular the Ocean and what we can do to help look after it.
We have begun to discuss posters and what their purpose are. We are each creating a poster encouraging people to look after the ocean and think about recycling our plastic rubbish. We are using different writing formats such as speech bubbles, slogans, and sentences to get our message across.
We have loved our new maths topic of ‘doubling’. We have found creative and fun away to investigate how to double numbers. We have used the large Numicon, our fingers and some of us are even writing number sentences.
As the sun is shining we are making the most of learning outside. We used some beautiful flowers to paint and print.
We have been investigating which material is the best for making boats. On day one we were only allowed to use different types of paper. On day two we added foil and playdoh. We found out the playdoh sinks however if you wrap it in tin foil it floats. On day three we used wood and plastic. We found these materials to make the most successful boats!
