We have had great fun with our learning in Saffron class over the past couple of weeks. In English we have been writing amazing fact files on interesting (and some carnivorous) plants such as the Venus fly trap and the pitcher plant. We have enjoyed seeing a real life pitcher plant full of nectar, and it has already caught some insects!
We’ve also really enjoyed our whole half term learning to program our Bee-bots, the importance of giving precise instructions and how to write down our algorithms.
Over the past few days we have been busy preparing for our celebration of the Platinum Jubilee. We’ve positioned photos of the Queen’s coronation and jubilees on our class historical timeline, made an excitingly long paper chain and created our own bunting to decorate the dining hall.
We also revisited an artist we met in Year 1, Andy Warhol, and Saffron class made their own pop art portraits of Queen Elizabeth II. We’re so pleased with how striking they look together!
