Wow what a great start Ochre Class have had to Year 2! We had a great first day, getting to know each other and sharing stories about our summer holidays. It sounds like everyone had a great break, and have returned ready for the new school year. We talked about the school values of Compassion, Building Community, Health and Wellbeing, and Self Improvement. The children showed good understanding of these, and what they look like in Year 2. We have already earnt lots of tokens for ‘Building Community’!
This term our Topic is ‘Moving with the Times’. In English we have started off by learning a poem called ‘The Train Ride’. In Maths we will start by looking at place value, before moving on to addition and subtraction. In Topic lessons we will be making our own hybrid vehicles, and looking at how transport has changed over time.
