Saffron has had an exciting start to Year 2, especially as we had a spaceship crash in our playground, and something left little yellow footprints around the site! We’ve loved getting to know the alien in our English book, Beegu. We’ve made our own puppet aliens, and used some great adjectives to describe them; we’ve acted out the reunion of Beegu and her parents, and we’ve written helpful advice to Beegu once she stuck on Earth. Beegu has kindly sent us a Guide to her home planet, Zorg, so we have just started to plan and then write our guides to Earth.
In Maths we’ve started Year 2 looking at place value and have been partitioning numbers into 10s and 1s in different ways.
Our Topic, Moving with the Times, has meant we are looking at different forms of transport, and Saffron class has made some wonderful collages of their own hybrid vehicles. And we’ve even got to hold a mystery object from Mrs Clark: can they remember what it is?
