This week in Cobalt class we have been doing amazing learning! In maths, we have continued to count squares to work out the area of rectilinear shapes and we have begun to make shapes based on a given area. We have also been recapping on our timetables and rocking out on TTRS (Times Table Rock Stars).
In English we have been watching an animation called “Varmints”. We have compared the atmosphere and thought about the impact this has on the audience. We are now going to start planning a persuasive piece of writing to convince the Varmints to return to how life used to be.
This week we participated in a workshop where we learnt key dates and facts on the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons. We learnt how the Vikings raided and invaded Britain and the reasons behind this. We also learnt why the Romans left Britain and that we still use vocabulary that was introduced by the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons.
