Bronze class have had such an exciting term. SATs are done and we are eagerly looking forward to the France residential trip and the fun week of learning planned for those of us still in school. We have earned it!
In English we have been busy writing flash fiction inspired by fairy tales and nursery rhymes. It’s been fun and interesting putting our own spin on well known stories and taking such beloved characters to new places. In maths we have been consolidating our learning by exploring concepts through a series of investigations.
We have been looking at the history of inventions in science. Did you know stone tools were humanity’s earliest technology, invented more than 2 million years ago!
It’s also been incredibly exciting in art as this term. We have been learning all about Op art and creating tessellations. This week we have finally printed with our lino stamps. It was challenging carving designs into them and working out how our tile would link together to create a tessellation pattern. It’s been so satisfying seeing them all come together!
In computing we have been working hard to design our own ’Smart School’ highlighting the advantages of ‘Big Data’ and ‘The Internet of Things’. We have been using Google Sheets to collect and analyse our data and Google Slides to present our findings. Now we are working on making presentations to convince Mr. Hyde that a ‘Smart School’ is the only way forward.
