What a fantastic start to the term we have had in Orchid class! This half term our topic is ‘We Are Paleontologists.’ In English we have been reading non-fiction texts to learn all about T-Rex’s, Diplodocus, Triceratops, Pteranodon and Ichthyosaurus dinosaurs. We’ve learnt some interesting facts and have loved writing some facts to share with our peers.

In Maths, we have been learning about composing and decomposing shapes. We have learnt the names of 2D shapes and looked at their properties. We have loved using this knowledge to decompose shapes by doing some ruler art, making chatterboxes and paper aeroplanes.

In Topic, we have been learning all about the history of dinosaurs. We have looked at the different sources which help us to know that even though dinosaurs don’t exist nowadays, we know that they once existed. We have made our own timelines in class to learn about when dinosaurs existed.
