Cinnamon Class have really enjoyed the start to the new topic, ‘Near and Far’.
This term Year 2 will be discovering the similarities and differences between England and Kenya and London and Nairobi. On Monday we had our topic launch day and the children made their own Maasai necklaces as well as a piece of Tingatinga art. They worked really hard to get it all completed and it looks beautiful up on the display boards in school.
In English we are focusing on the story, Lila and the Secret of Rain by David Conway, which is set in Kenya. Children have been listening to, discussing and acting out the story in preparation for writing their own versions.
