Over the last few weeks, we have welcomed the children into Reception. The children in Cerise class have had a fun time exploring all the provisions and getting to know each other. They have settled well into Reception and have done wonderfully learning the daily routines.

In class we have read a variety of books linked to our topic ‘We Are Unique.’ and have spoken about the people who are in our family, what they look like and why they are special to us. We have also looked at ourselves and what makes us each unique. The children have spoken about themselves from what they look like to their talents and personalities.

In maths, we have been exploring numbers to 4. We have had lots of fun singing counting songs and exploring numbers 1-4 in our environment.

We have also started to learn some graphemes in phonics. The children have learnt the sounds different letters make and the formation phrases. They have also begun writing letters and oral blending.
