We’ve had a really exciting start to term in Turquoise Class.
In our Reading lessons we found out the ending to The Iron Man – how exciting and unexpected the ending was! In English, we have begun studying ‘Cinnamon’, which is a fantastic book, with lots of amazing description. We’ve really enjoyed writing a diary entry as the protagonist, using lots of expanded noun phrases to describe.
In Maths, we are learning how to add and subtract 4-digit numbers, and learning how to reason and problem solve with these processes. Making ‘poo’ was the highlight of our Science lesson last week – yeuk! We are learning all about the digestive system.
On Tuesday Turquoise Class visited Surrey Docks Farm. We had a great day learning about all the animals and plants at the farm. As it is a working farm, we found out that some of the pigs get sold and used for their meat. The eggs are also sold at the farm. It was such fun watching the goats leap around, playing in the rain! We were also given an opportunity to feed some of the animals – those that were brave or greedy enough to come out of their shelters! Although it rained all day, the pupils were incredible! Their resilience and positivity was impressive. Thank you, Turquoise Class.
