Ochre Class have had a lovely couple of weeks where they became true Abstract Expressionist Artists!!
They have learnt all sorts of different mark making techniques and ways of painting specifically looking at our school’s ‘Take One Artist’ Helen Frankenhaler. Their sketch books are now full of information and creativity. They can describe colours that are warm and cool, explain about action paintings and the different effects that can make.
Even with all this art we still managed to cram in starting our big write for ‘Mrs Armitage On Wheels’ which I have to say is very impressive, especially their use of adjectives and different sentence starters. We also have been exploring our understanding of transport and studying buses, cars and the underground. In class we have created time lines and explained what has changed over the years. It was brilliant on Monday when we had a fantastic trip to the London Transport Museum where we were able to see just how much transport has changed in London over time. We got to see real buses and trains from history and even got to climb aboard a couple!
