We have been doing lots of learning and having fun in Orchid class.  Last half term our topic was “We are Superheroes” and the children participated in lots of activities.  These ranged from dressing up as their favourite superhero, becoming familiar with the story – Supertato – where they made vegetable superhero soup, trying to save Evil Pea from the jelly, making clay fruit or vegetables, designing and making superhero cars and talking about real-life superheroes. Orchid class even made their own Supertato out of a real potato!

This half-term our topic is ‘We are Gardeners’. We have started off this week with the story ‘Errol’s Garden’.  So far Orchid class have been designing their own gardens and decorating plant pots. We are very excited to use these pots to grow some seeds in!

In our writing we are continuing to work on forming our letters correctly and have started writing words and simple sentences. In maths we are focusing on weight, some of our vocabulary includes heavier, lighter, weight, scales, balance and measure.
