This week in English, Lavender Class have been story mapping and writing our fairy tales. We have been focussing on using traditional fairy tale language and language features such as group of three, superlatives and ‘so’ as an adverb. Everyone has come up with their own fairy tale and we are super excited to finish and share them!
In Maths, we have continued learning about fractions. We have been comparing and ordering both fractions less than one and more than one, with different denominators.
We have also been extremely busy in our topic lessons. In Art we have designed and sculpted scarab beetles using clay. In History, we have been learning about Alexandria and the key events in Cleopatra’s life. In Computing, we have been learning about binary code and in Science, we have continued our learning on forces, where we were explaining and demonstrating the effects of water resistance. We had an excellent experiment this week! We were challenged to create three different boat designs using plasticine to see which was the most effective at floating.
