Magenta Class have thoroughly been enjoying this terms topic ‘We are environmentalists!’ We have learnt and shared our fantastic knowledge of the planet, sea life and how we can help protect our environment. We even hopped on our yellow submarine to explore the ocean!
This week we have focused on recycling and how to look after our school environment. We went litter picking and found a surprising amount of plastic in our playground. The children were shocked to see how many small pieces of plastic there were. We used gloves and litter pickers and the whole class agreed this is something we should do weekly.
Magenta class have shown a great interest in mini beasts and creating mini habitats for them in our playground. We were very lucky to spot baby stag beetles in our forest school area.
In English we have been learning about the purpose of posters and the features they could include. We are working really hard on creating posters for our school to encourage each other not to drop litter because of the impact it might have the or planet, in particular, the ocean.
Magenta have loved their maths learning this half term. We have delved deep into the world numbers to 20, using part, part, whole methods, doubling and looking at understanding very large numbers!
