Year 5 have been diving into their Forces topic in science with some brilliant hands-on investigations! As part of our learning on water resistance, we designed and built models; one to sink slowly and another to sink quickly, before testing and timing them to observe how shape affects resistance in water.

We also explored mechanisms, creating pulley systems by building windmill models to see how forces can be used to make work easier. It’s been a fun challenge to work creatively in our groups conducting these experiments and problem solving.
