An Amazing Start to Our Normandy Trip!
Year 6 have had the best first day on our trip to Normandy, France! We had an early start, arriving at school before the sun came up and jumping on the coach at 5.40am. It was a long journey to Dover, where we caught the ferry to France. The ferry ride was a bit wobbly at times, but we had a great time relaxing in the cabin, and some of us even headed out on deck to check out the view. A few of us couldn’t resist recreating the famous Titanic scene at the front of the boat-arms stretched wide and everything! It was much quicker than we expected, and definitely a highlight of the journey.

After crossing the Channel, we arrived in Calais and carried on towards the château. Along the way, we stopped at L’attaque Des Grenouilles Géantes, where we ate our lunch, played games, and enjoyed some time together before getting back on the road.

When we finally arrived at Château du Molay, the staff gave us such a warm welcome. We had a brilliant first evening, tucking into a tasty dinner and celebrating Eloise’s birthday!! It was such a lovely evening and we finished off with some play time on the grounds of the chateau.

After such a full-on day and a fun evening, we were completely worn out and had a great night’s sleep.
Now we’re ready and excited for our second day of adventures!
