It’s been another brilliant day here at Nethercott Farm, and Year 5 are fully embracing life on the farm! The children have thoroughly enjoyed caring for the animals, with a particular highlight being grooming the ponies, a calm and rewarding task that had everyone smiling.
One group got creative in the kitchen, taking part in lunch making where they rolled out dough and prepared their own home-baked pizzas. Not only did they learn some great cooking skills, but the end result was delicious! It’s been amazing to see the children so involved in all aspects of farm life, from field to fork.
We’ve also been hard at work in the garden and greenhouse, harvesting vegetables and tending to the plants and crops. The children have shown great care and teamwork, and they’re really starting to see how much effort goes into growing food.
Down at forest school, the fun continued with a hands-on afternoon of bow making and even creating real charcoal! It’s been a fantastic chance to learn new skills in the great outdoors, and we think you’ll agree, our forest school camo looks fantastic!
We’re all looking forward to another full day of farm adventures tomorrow. There’s still so much to learn, explore and enjoy!
