We’ve been travelling the world without even leaving the classroom this week! In our new Pole to Pole topic, we became geographers and explored our class globes to find out how the world is organized.
We had great fun spinning the globes to find the North and South Poles, but the most interesting part was finding the invisible line around the middle: the Equator. We learned that countries near this line are usually much hotter than the countries near the poles. We also looked at the vast blue spaces and discussed the different oceans, imagining what it would be like to sail from the freezing Arctic to the warm Indian Ocean.
It was brilliant working in partners to spot the different continents and we can’t wait to find out more about the animals that live in these different climates!
