In Azure class, we have begun our topic on Rivers. We started by solving a riddle about a farmer who needed to cross the river and get a fox, a chicken and a bag of grain across to the other side safely without anything being eaten. Quite a few children solved the problem. We also used our mapping skills to locate rivers around the world as well as locating the source and mouth of each river.
In English, we began reading and learning ‘Just so Stories’ by Rudyard Kipling. ‘How the Camel got it’s Hump’ was retold with actions for the key words. Then, we looked at another ‘Just so Story’ called ‘Why Rhino has Wrinkly Skin’ and we learned how to box up the story into 5 parts to help us plan new stories – see Van’s work.
In P.S.H.E., we began thinking about hopes and dreams through the story ‘Salt in his Shoes’ which is about Michael Jordan. The story is all about hope and how any family can work together to help their child’s dream come true. We wrote about what it means to be resilient – see Megan’s work.
Our Art session was great fun this week, when Miss Gibbs was teaching us how to use use lines and shading when drawing 3D objects. We really enjoyed experimenting -see Lukaria’s, Irvings’ and Safiyah’s work.
Finally, check out Ela’s way of practising her spellings, it looks like lots of fun.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing more fantastic work from Azure class on Seesaw!” – Mrs Cooper.
