This week, Turquoise Class have been learning about the human impact on rivers and what we can do to protect this valuable habitat. Children spent time designing posters to inform readers of simple ways they can protect rivers.
In English, children have been writing their own version of a Just So Story based on the new book ‘How the Stars Came to Be’. We have seen some fantastic effort to use language that speaks directly to the reader and phrases that carry the story along.
In Maths, we have continued our learning on multiplying and dividing. The children have learnt how numbers change when they are multiplied by 1 and 0 and what happens when we divide a number by itself. We have learnt how this differs to when we divide a number by 1. Turquoise Class have also recapped their three times table knowledge and used this to help them multiply and divide by 6.
In Science, we have learnt about the properties of particles in solids, liquids and gases and taken part in the BBC Live Lesson linked to the Big School’s Winter Watch. Some children have posted voice notes, photos of their bird feeders and videos explaining what they have learnt.
In Art, children have been using their mark making skills to sketch the view from a window.
Turquoise have also been enjoying Mr Glenn and Mr Lee’s music assemblies!
