Another busy week of online learning for Copper class. In English, we started a new topic of travel writing. Miss Magee took us, virtually, to New Zealand, Tanzania and Hokkaido, Japan. We learned how travel writers use persuasive language and writing devices to inform us and make us want to to visit different countries all around the world. We used these skills to write our own persuasive advert about Hokkaido using the information we had gathered over the week.
In Maths, there has been more fun with fractions and Copper maths group have been working through the delights of mixed numbers and equivalent fractions. Brass and Bronze maths groups have completed a whole unit of fractions all online which is a huge achievement and have moved on to geometry. You can see from the work completed below that the fantastic IT skills of our children have been evident as Alex was able to complete the picture below, plotting co-ordinates in all four quadrants and use the drawing tools on SeeSaw.
Our Topic work focused on researching our local area to enable us to write about Sydenham in the form of a travel guide this week. Children gathered knowledge and evidence and sent us some lovely pictures of the local area. The children used their exercise time to get out for some fresh air.
Mr Djavit has been keeping us fit online and the children have enjoyed completing PE with a familiar face.
