This half term in guided reading, we have been reading a book called ‘The Viewer’ by Gary Crew and Shaun Tan. The book is about a young boy called Tristan, who was curious from birth. One day he found a box at a dump: the box was full of instruments that magnify, focus or illuminate. In the box, Tristan found a viewer toy: the images on the discs filled him with fascination and dread; the pictures show events throughout history.
We have been making predictions, using evidence from the text to answer questions and last week we wrote a letter of advice to Tristan. We are really looking forward to finding out what Tristan sees next and what happens to him in the rest of the book.
