This week year 4 have created some fantastic monoprints in art and learnt how to apply and spread ink on perspex using a brayer. They also learnt to draw the mirror image of Viking runes so they appear the correct way round on their prints.
In Science we have continued to observe our teeth experiment using egg shells. We are really surprised at the effect of orange juice on teeth! We then learnt to write predictions and record the results in tables.
In English we have planned out news articles on the Vanishings that feature in the book ‘Varjak Paw’. We have also learnt the difference between direct and indirect quotes from witnesses.
In P.E. we are learning the different skills used in rounders and learning to play in a team.
In Guided reading we have been looking closely at the text and pictures in ‘The Undefeated’ and why the author has made particular word choices. We have also learnt more about the people featured on the pages.
In PSHCE we have been learning that like a cake, babies are made when the right ingredients are brought together. We also learnt the correct names for parts of the body.
