Saffron Class have really enjoyed the story, ‘Beegu’, by Alexis Deacon. They produced some lovely paintings of Beegu (who is a little yellow alien with very long ears), then pretended to be her and wrote a diary, describing her adventures after her crash landing on Earth. They also wrote a guide to Planet Earth, for any more aliens that might come to visit them! The children have been thinking very carefully about their handwriting, trying to form all of their letters correctly and make sure that their writing is neatly presented.
In maths the children have been working hard on their maths fluency, trying to learn and remember number bonds and subtraction facts involving numbers up to 20. Many of the children are very good at recalling doubles, like double 4 and double 9.
