The children in Coral class have had a fantastic time this term exploring toys from the past and present during our learning journey under the topic ‘Toys R Us’. Last week we spent some time looking at a 100-year journey of toys. We sorted toys and compared their characteristics. We then got a chance to play with the toys and to make our own opinions about what we liked best!
Since the appearance of the ‘Biscuit Bears’, we have been busy learning about ‘Time Adverbials’ and how to write simple instructions. We sequence time adverbials to understand how instructions need to be in chronological order. We even had a go at acting out instructions in groups on ‘How to make our own Biscuit Bear’.
In Maths, we have continued with our skills on numbers to 20 and have been finding all the combinations that make numbers 6 to 10. We have been continuing to show our understanding through the use of ‘part whole models’.
But most exciting of all has been the launch of Mathletics in school. We have been challenging our friends to maths calculation battles in the classroom!
