Magenta class loved the story ‘My 2 Grannies’. First we focused on Granny Rose from England. Then last week we learnt about Trinidad where ‘Granny Vero’ was from. We drew flowers and wildlife from Trinidad. We made flags. We closely looked at pictures of the beach and different animals who lived in that climate. 

The children had fun playing dominoes outdoors like the characters did in the story. At the end of the week we sampled some plantains and yams. One of our lovely parents is from Trinidad and she came in and spoke to us . We thought of questions for her where we compared England and Trinidad. We asked her about the weather and the food.
