We have had a great start to the new term. We were very excited on Tuesday as we launched into our new topic ‘Shakes and Quakes’ in which we will be learning all about volcanoes and earthquakes! We began by creating a survival poster for people living near volcanoes and earthquake zones.
In Science this week, we have been busy becoming rock detectives by sorting rocks into groups according to their properties. We then used magnifying glasses to observe them closely and used scientific language to describe them.
In maths, we have been recapping our 2, 5 and 10 times tables and learning to use a bar modelling strategy to help us with addition and subtraction.
In English, we are reading ‘The Pied Piper of Hamelin’ by Michael Morpurgo. We enjoyed getting into role as residents of Hamelin Town to perform part of the story.
