I am sure all the children came home telling you about our visitors last week. Apricot class were very brave when encountering a corn snake, millipede, giant African snake, a crested geko and even a tarantula. I can’t say I managed to stroke / touch or hold all the creatures but the children were fascinated and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and touching the Zoolab animals.
Alongside starting our Amazing Animal topic we also started reading and learning the story of ‘Lost and Found’ by Oliver Jeffers. We had a fantastic lesson pretending to be the characters. The drama was fantastic and I’m sure I have some budding actors in our midst.
In maths, we have been recapping our number bonds to 10 and learning new vocabulary and their meaning. I am very impressed that they understand the commutative law, what an addend is and different terminology for total/ sum/ altogether/ whole.
Its been a super start to 2022!!!!
