In science, Violet Class have been developing their understanding around the different forces that act upon objects. So far, we have learnt about friction, gravity, and air resistance. This week, we did a fun experiment to investigate air resistance – we made parachutes of different sizes to see which one would increase air resistance the most! We found that the parachutes with the biggest surface area had more air resistance acting upon it and therefore glided most slowly to the ground. We really enjoyed doing this.
In English, we have been reading our new book, ‘Marcy and the Riddle of the Sphinx.’ Her father has gone on a dangerous mission in Egypt. In fact, he has gone into the belly of a Sphinx! We hope he will survive…
