We’ve taken a different approach to Maths in Brass this week: we’ve been designing our own theme park! We were each given a budget of £10,000 and a large plot of land on which to design and build our theme parks. We had to choose a theme for the park, ensuring it appealed to all ages and then decide what rides, attractions and food stands we wanted to have inside them. That was the fun part! As well as this, we had to consider practical things such as having a life guard if we chose to have any water-based rides and of course making sure there were enough bins and toilets for visitors. We had to budget for absolutely everything – right down to the cost of putting in pavements and gravel. It was also a challenge making sure we had enough people to keep our parks running and safe – who knew hiring staff could be so expensive? It’s been fun to use our Maths skills in this creative and practical way.
