Polka dots… Polka dots… Polka dots. This week, as part of our Take One Artist project the children have been studying the ‘princess of polka dots’, Yayoi Kusama. Yayoi Is a Japanese artist who makes lots of different types of art- paintings, sculptures, performances and installations but the one thing they all have is common is… that’s right, Polka dots! The children have analysed the artist and are about to make their own sculptures using Yoyoi’s style.
It has been a busy week but we have found the time to cast out eyes to the stars. In science, the children have worked really hard to learn about the 12 most influential astronomers. This has helped us to learn more about the ‘Race to Space’ and create a timeline to understand the development of men travelling to space.
