The Nursery children have really enjoyed our Take One Artist topic.  We have gone completely dotty!  Our theme was based around the artist Yayoi Kusama’s love of flowers and of course dots!  We explored all the different ways we could paint, draw and make dots using different materials and resources. 

Before we could complete our flower sculptures using white clay, we spent time looking closely at a variety of different flowers – talking about their shapes, textures, sizes and colours.  The children were fascinated at how the white clay could be moulded just like playdough but also dried up so quickly!

The children produced beautiful clay flowers and then carefully decorated them with dots. We hope you enjoy looking at our photos as much as we enjoyed the topic 😊
