This term in Green class we have been learning new sounds and blending new words. The children have been supported to write words independently and explore sentence structure, using correct punctuation such as finger spaces, capital letters, and full stops. Throughout the term, we have been reading a variety of stories linked to our topic. Our children were encouraged to ask and answer questions about the texts. Furthermore, they have developed their skills by writing a description of dinosaurs by using adjectives. They also had the opportunity to continue improving their confidence in speaking and listening situations such as ‘Show and Tell’.
In Mathematics, the children have been using objects and pictorial representations to add and subtract numbers to 10 and 20. Additionally, they have begun to work on number bonds and learned how to represent these in ‘ten frames.’
