In Azure class we have settled in well and have been enjoying getting back into our learning and routines.
As a class we have particularly enjoyed using new techniques such as shading and grounding when sketching in Art. Firstly, we practised these techniques by sketching different objects from a person to a cactus! Then we moved onto sketching our own landscapes, inspired by Oliver Jeffers, ensuring we have used grounding to add more depth to objects to bring them to life.

We have also enjoyed getting into the character of the ‘Lighthouse Keeper’, who is a grumpy old man from an animation clip we have watched. Inspired by the animation, we have written a diary entry as the lighthouse keeper himself, getting into character by using thought bubbles to express how he was feeling. We are now at the stage of editing our writing, making sure we have included the features in the success criteria, adding in more detail where possible.
In computing, we were keen to expand our previous ‘Scratch’ knowledge from year 3 by looking at how we can make our sprite move using different blocks and the x and y axis. We were then able to use different codes to have 2 sprites moving at the same time! We look forward to continue to develop our coding knowledge.
