This week in English, we finished writing our diary entries based on our focus text “The King who banned the dark”. We discussed the negative impact of living under light all day long. We also looked at key vocabulary and phrases we could include to write either as an adult or a child.
In Maths this week we have finished ordering and comparing 4-digit numbers. We used our knowledge of our place value to support us to order and compare, especially when numbers had the same number of hundreds and tens. We have also continued to look at patterns within our 3 and 6 times tables.
During our afternoon lessons we have been learning about the Artist Oliver Jeffers. We have looked at a number of his paintings, discussing his style of drawing and his technique to ground objects. We spent time experimenting with watercolours and created swatches, looking at dark and light of the same colour.
